You must have a genuine Certificate Of Authenticity for the Operating System. Perform a clean install of the Operating System; install all hardware drivers, Activation of Windows with Microsoft, Will install free antivirus software to protect system before leaving our workshops (We will advise you to buy a valid subscription of 1 Year for an AntiVirus).

Installation of all Service Packs and updates @ £20.00 inc. VAT
Any additional service packs and windows updates will be charged for. Advice can be given if needed.

Additional software install @ £30 inc. VAT
Software provided by the customer, OpenOffice (an alternative to Microsoft Office), AVG free license, SpyBot Search & Destroy Anti-Spyware, Adobe Reader for PDF files, Windows Cleanup tool.

Spyware/Virus Removal @ £50.00 inc. VAT
Comprehensive Spyware/Adware/Virus program removal, After successful cleaning Cambs Laptop Repairs will not give any warranty for Spyware/Adware/Virus removal.

Data Backup
Hard drive in good condition, no errors during diagnostics @ £30.00 per DVD (4.5GB) inc. VAT
Hard drive in poor condition, errors found during diagnostics @ £40.00 per DVD (4.5GB) inc. VAT
Data targetted as My Documents, email and contacts from Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express, however email account details cannot be saved. Itunes, and customer specified files where possible. Cambs Laptop Repairs accept no responsibility for condition or amount of data saved from a failing hard drive, the £40 charge is still made for the data backup attempt.

Recreation of user profiles as required, My Documents, Emails and accounts (where provided), address books etc, Software installed when provided by the customer.

This charge covers :- Motherboard, CPU, Memory, Power Supplies, Hard drives, Optical drives, card readers etc. Important - if the motherboard is changed in a PC, the Windows Operating System may require repair to work successfully with the new component. Therefore the "Restore Windows Access" charge would also apply.

Laptop Power Jack Replacement @ £80 Inc Vat Cost of powerjack included
Strip down of unit to remove main circuit board, desolder of jack, resolder of new, continuity check, rebuild unit, and charge battery. Please note - Sony and Samsung Laptops will be quoted for, as the power jack is non standard and requires sourcing.

Laptop Screen Replacement @ £40.00 Inc VAT + Cost of Screen (Average £120.00 Inc VAT).
Strip down of unit to remove LCD/TFT screen, identify unit, and replace screen with compatible part.

Laptop Motherboard Replacement @ £70.00 Inc VAT + Cost of Motherboard .

Callout charge for home users @ £30.00 Inc VAT (This includes first hour onsite)
Additional onsite time @ £20.00 Inc VAT per 60 minutes.

There is no maximum time limit when on site. Time on site is time charged.

Collection and Return of computers within 10 miles of Ramsey Town Centre is Free and from 10 miles radius of Peterborough city center, contact us for an appointment.

For 10-20 miles add cost of £10.00..................20-30 miles add cost of £20.00

All other jobs in our workshops are subject to quotation at our standard hourly rate of £30.00 Inc VAT per 60 minutes of bench time per job, However Cambs Laptop Repairs operate a maximum labour charge limit for 2 hours of work. You will never be charged for any works that excedes this limit (excludes laptop motherboard replacement). Software repairs have no warranty with us, Hardware repairs are covered by the standard manufacturers warranty. Laptop jack repairs are covered for 30 days.
